About the Event
What is Connected by Design?
Diversity alone does not create trust or belonging; councils need to design for connection, participation and shared action.
Connected by design is a practical one-day workshop for local government policy and practice staff.
Lynda Ford will focus on how intercultural approaches can enhance the range and quality of your work from recognising diversity to creating meaningful interaction which improves day-to-day connections between 1st, 2nd and 3+ generation Australians and First Australians in your community.
Adongwot Manyoul will apply Cultural Intelligence (CQ) to everyday council work, helping participants identify assumptions, blind spots and the gap between good intentions and cultural impact.
Celia Tran will explore how councils engage and communicate throughout, rather than after, the process, use an intersectional lens and choose between informing, consulting, co-designing and co-delivering.
